O Bope (Batalhão de Operações Especiais) fez na manhã de hoje uma operação na favela da Rocinha na zona sul do Rio. A polícia afirmou ter apreendido na comunidade uma tonelada de maconha.

Duas pessoas foram detidas e uma moto apreendida. Não havia registro de troca de tiros até as 10h50.

De acordo com a Polícia Militar, a ação que envolve cerca de 80 homens não tem como objetivo inicial ocupar a comunidade para instalação de UPP (Unidade de Polícia Pacificadora).

De acordo com o relações-públicas do Bope, capitão Ivan Blaz, a operação também está sendo usada para fazer novo mapeamento da comunidade, que sofreu intervenções com as obras do PAC (Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento). Um ônibus equipado com quatro câmeras israelenses registram as vielas e becos existente na comunidade.
